Africa-Press – Angola. With 87.17 percent of the votes, JMPLA activists elected, on Saturday, Marcelino dos Santos, as leader of the organization in the province of Cunene.
The new first secretary elected, during the II extraordinary meeting of the JMPLA, replaces Ireno Nambalo, currently deputy to the National Assembly.
On the occasion, the acting first provincial secretary of the MPLA, in Cunene, José Veyelenge, asked for greater dynamism, strength and vision in order to maintain the cohesion, discipline and sagacity of young people in meeting current challenges.
The meeting of members of this organization, in addition to electing the first provincial secretary, continues to comply with the party’s guidelines, with a view to maintaining the good dynamics of the MPLA’s youth structure.
To this end, José Veyelenge urged the militants, supporters and friends of JMPLA to have greater unity contributed to the success of the organization, as well as thanking the outgoing secretary for his performance.
For his part, the elected secretary promised to comply with the guidelines of the organization’s ongoing program and that of the party in general, through the mobilization of youth into the organization’s ranks.
Marcelino dos Santos said that the actions will be aimed at youth entrepreneurship in order to guarantee the empowerment of young people, within the framework of promoting more employment and guaranteeing self-support.
He also pointed out to carry out actions to moralize society, resulting from the breakdown of moral, civic and cultural values, therefore, asking, this time, youth to adopt a socially correct, fair and balanced stance through respect for institutions, to leaders towards the construction of a democratic state and the rule of law.
Currently, more than 169 thousand militants are part of the organization, spread across the municipalities of Cuanhama, Ombadja, Namacunde, Cahama, Curoca and Cuvelai.
