Africa-Press – Angola. The Head of State, João Lourenço, visited the Apostolic Nunciature in Luanda on Thursday afternoon, where he paid tribute to Pope Francis. Upon arrival, the President of the Republic was received by the Apostolic Nuncio in Angola, Kryspin Dubiel, with whom he had a brief private conversation.

João Lourenço, accompanied by the First Lady, Ana Dias Lourenço, then signed the book of condolences in which he highlighted the qualities of the Supreme Pontiff, who died last Monday at the age of 88, after suffering from illness.

It is important to highlight that in the message of condolence sent to the Vatican, João Lourenço wrote that the death of Pope Francis constitutes “a hard blow for the world and an immense loss for Catholic Christians”.

Pope Francis’ funeral is scheduled for Saturday at 9 am Angola time, and will be attended by several world leaders.
