Judo seeks African title in Antananarivo

Africa-Press – Angola. The national team of juniors and cadets, of both sexes, will start this Thursday, in the city of Antananarivo (Madagascar), the African Judo Championship, with the aim of winning the title.

With a caravan of 26 judokas (junior -15 and cadets -11), the Angolans were runners-up in both categories, in the last edition, held in Kenya.

Angola is already on the stage of the competition with a large number of athletes, while the rest will only leave on Wednesday, in a delegation led by the president of the Angolan Federation of the sport, Gildo Santos.

Men’s junior squad:

Leonardo Barros (60 kg – August 1st), Augusto Dalla (66 kg – Frankap Center), Camélio Chimbimba (66 kg – May 1st), Leonardo Domingos (73 kg – Genesis C.RG), Gabriel Zeferino (73 kg – Judo Elite), Santos Sebastião (81kg – Miza – Kany), Denis Silva (90 kg – Judo Elite) and Estêvão Panzo (100 kg – Interclube).

Vânia Gabriel (48 kg – Futungo de Belas), Beuma Pinha (52 kg – Genesis C.R), Diuma José (57 kg – Elite Judo), Maria Jaime (63 kg – Interclube), Isabel Chuculia (70 kg – Esc. Irmãos), Yunilda Lopes (78 kg – Esc. Rafael de Carvalho), Twana Cesar (78 kg – 1o de Agosto), Vania Quissua (-48 kg – Genesis CR), Eldemira Segunda (-48 kg – Esc.
