Africa-Press – Angola. Angolan jurist Sebastião Vinte e Cinco highlighted this Friday, in the city of Uíge, the role of the lawyer in the democratic state of law in the defense of interests in conflict with the Law.
Sebastião Vinte e Cinco made this recognition in the lecture on law in times of financial crisis, promoted by the Angolan Bar Association in Uíge.
He said that the exercise of advocacy activity in the country must be guided by the code of ethics and discipline, aligned with the legal system and respecting legal and constitutional prerogatives.
On the role of law in times of financial crisis, the jurist acknowledged that the crisis has jeopardized the functioning and viability of lawyers’ offices.
In turn, the OAA Provincial Delegate in Uíge, Landu Marcelo, said that the lecture falls within the scope of the order’s initiatives, taking into account the financial crisis that affects the country and in defense of the rights of lawyers in the region.
The OAA in Uíge controls 17 law firms.
