Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, confirmed this Saturday the level of execution of the Hospital dos Queimados do Kilamba, a unit scheduled to open in 2025 and with capacity for 248 beds.

During the visit, the Executive Power Holder received explanations about the stages of the work and toured several areas of the future hospital unit that is being built in the Urban District of Kilamba, municipality of Belas, in Luanda.

This is an infrastructure whose works began in March 2022, in an area of ​​48 thousand square meters.

The project includes four buildings, with emphasis on a main one and an auxiliary one. It includes an oxygen production and wastewater treatment station.

As for the main building, it consists of six floors and must house an administrative space, external consultations, an emergency block, physiotherapy, emagiology, auxiliary and technical services, laundry, morgue and warehouses.

The first floor, of the main building, should include operating rooms, a sterilization area, respiratory therapy area, auditorium, hyper bariatric room and a data center.

The installation of technical equipment and a cafeteria is planned for the second floor. The third and fourth floors will be used for the hospitalization of adults and children (pediatrics). The technical area will be located on floors five and six.

The six floors will be interconnected

by a service tunnel to the

auxiliary building that houses the Mechanical, Electricity and Plumbing (MEC)

services .

Outside, the project also includes the construction of a car park with capacity for more than 364 vehicles.

The work is physically completed in the order of 12 percent and is being implemented in a space of 9.5 hectares.

The Burns Hospital will be

equipped with state-of-the-art equipment

and built with the

aim of creating

modern facilities, capable of providing

the best healthcare to the

population.
