Africa-Press – Angola. The importance of logistics bodies for the various branches of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) was highlighted this Wednesday (9), in Luanda, by Lieutenant General Carlos Chivunda.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the IX methodological meeting of the FAA’s logistics bodies, Carlos Chivunda referred that, even in civil organisations, logistics is assumed to be of great importance and as a factor in increasing competitiveness and maximizing gains.
In this context, he stressed that it is the same in the Angolan armed forces, where this (logistics) constitutes a multiplier power, combat and morale of the troops, without which neither strategy nor tactics would achieve their objectives.
Likewise, he also drew the attention of those present to the strategic objectives of the FAA action plan, defined in the 2023/2026 action plan, and respective lines, which are embodied in the planning, programming and budget execution to guarantee the logistical support of all sectors and barracks, without forgetting the green areas.
According to the general officer, it is necessary to identify strengths and weaknesses, threats and opportunities that allow for positive lines of action for the continued development of logistics based on staff training.
The head of the main logistics department of the General Staff of the FAA underlined the need, when talking about logistics, to take into account human, material, financial, physical and information resources, where man is the most important and main actor .
The event, which for three days brings together senior officers specializing in logistics from different branches of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), is part of the institution’s calendar and aims to assess the logistical assurance system.
It also aims to demonstrate the form and methods of the troop support system in peacetime, guarantee the timely and uninterrupted supply of all material means, techniques in the interest of elevation, permanent maintenance of disposition and combat readiness, aiming at the successful fulfillment of of the missions.
