Lunda-Norte Govt Assures Continued Child'S Protection

Africa-Press – Angola. Lunda-Norte’s provincial government on Thursday expressed the will to continue ensuring that every child has access to quality education and health, as well as to implement policies that aim to prevent and combat all types of violence against minors.

The commitments were reaffirmed by Lunda-Norte’s deputy-governor for the social, political and economic sector, Frederico Barroso, during the pre-provincial children’s forum, stressing that its administration remains committed to defending and enforcing the children’s fundamental rights.

According to the official, the pre-forum is a reaffirmation of the Government’s commitment to the current and next child generation, as it will help define new strategies to improve the actions of the Executive and its partners, aiming to comply with the 11 Commitments to Children.

For Frederico Barroso, the protection of a child should not be seen as an individual responsibility of the family or the State, but rather as requiring a collective effort.

“By ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for our children, we are seriously investing in the future of our country, promoting conscious, participatory and responsible citizens”, he stressed.
