Lunda-Norte Reports 126 Border Violations

Africa-Press – Angola. A total of 126 cases of border violations that resulted in the arrest of 742 citizens from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) were reported during the week in the province of Lunda-Norte.

The information was made official on Thursday (29) in Dundo, by the spokesperson for the Provincial Command of the National Police in Lunda-Norte, Domingos Muanafumo, who stressed that illegal diamond mining and fuel smuggling continue to be the main causes of illegal immigration in that region.

He stressed that the arrest of the immigrants occurred during a micro-operation as part of the fierce fight against fuel smuggling, illegal immigration, diamond mining, human trafficking, among other crimes that jeopardize the national economy and the stability of the country.

He said that the 752 immigrants, of which 103 were minors, have already been repatriated, after administrative and immigration procedures.
