Africa-Press – Angola. Portugal’s Estrela da Amadora midfielder, Mário Balbúrdia, was called at the last minute to join the services of the National Football Team, with a view to the game on the 17th against RCA, in Cameroon, referring to the 5th round of access to the Championship African Nations Conference 2014 in Cote d’Ivoire.
The call for appeal by the former 1.o de Agosto midfielder aims to fill the waiver of Beni Mukedi (Casa Pia) due to clinical problems, according to the national coach, Pedro Gonçalves, at a press conference this Thursday.
The coach, who presented the situation of the national team, after four days of preparation, in the Portuguese city of Setúbal, added that Balbúrdia joins the group until Sunday because he is disputing the “Play-offs” of the Portuguese League.
He also announced the integration of midfielder Rui Modesto (Alk Allsvenskan of Sweden) to replace Jordy Gaspar (Grenoble), who suffered a sprain and is waiting for an MRI to assess its severity.
In the competitive chapter, Pedro Gonçalves stated that everything depends on Angola to qualify for the CAN, only needing to win the two remaining games in the tie. The last will be against Madagascar, in Luanda.
As for the opponent (RCA), he said that he is making a journey of aggregating new players and that they produce an aggressive game.
In the ranking, Angola occupies third place, with 5 points, while RCA is second with 7 points. Ghana is the leader, with 8pts, while Madagascar is fourth and last with 1pts.
