Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of Social Action, Family and Promotion of Women, Ana Paula Sacramento Neto, was satisfied this Saturday with the implementation of social projects carried out in the province of Uíge, within the scope of the Integrated Program for Local Development and Combating Poverty (PIDLCP).
Speaking at the end of the two-day working visit to the province of Uíge, the minister said that 777 PIDLCP projects were scheduled to be implemented in this region in 2022. Of these, 729 have been completed, 25 are ongoing and 12 are on hold.
This involves the construction and rehabilitation of 20 schools, five health posts, 24 water supply systems, 21 fountains, three markets, four bridges, eight boreholes, 105 kilometers of road, school lunch programs, vaccination , fishing, agriculture, cutting and sewing, female training, sport and tourism promotion.
He explained that these actions benefited a total of 325 thousand 112 citizens, representing 17.47 percent of the region’s population.
To improve the implementation of the program in the region, Ana Paula Sacramento Neto appealed to PIDLCP stakeholders for greater engagement in the execution of the 11 productive inclusion projects, in order to reduce the poverty rate in the region.
In turn, the governor of the province of Uíge, José Carvalho da Rocha, said that the local government will continue to make efforts to improve access roads, aiming to improve the flow of local production.
