Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of Public Administration, Labor and Social Security, Teresa Rodrigues Dias, guaranteed this Friday, in Luanda, that the Government continues to develop actions to guarantee the modernization of the Training Units of the National Vocational Training System.
Speaking at the opening of the first workshop on Industrial Welding, the minister explained that pedagogical and training practices are being adapted to the demands of the job market, which allows for a greater rapprochement between the world of work and teaching and learning systems.
In the area of welding, he mentioned the provinces of Luanda, Bengo, Huíla and Lunda Sul as those that have centers that teach the course in this segment and considers it to be the starting point for the process of recognizing them.
The person responsible recalled the commitment made with the beginning of the implementation of the National Qualification System, highlighting the creation of the institute with the same name, which has eight qualifications, including one in the area of metalworking, with a view to supporting the industry.
“We hope to count on the participation of the private sector, as in this way we will be contributing decisively to greater effectiveness and efficiency of the processes”, he declared.
The first workshop on Industrial Welding, held under the motto “welding, a factor in the development of Angolan industry”, in a joint organization between the ministries of Public Administration, Labor and Social Security and that of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas.
The event, which ended this Friday, is aligned with the Angolanization strategy of the industry, with a focus on the Oil Sector, a process that essentially involves raising the technical and professional level of national human capital to meet the demands from the market.
“The measure aims to provide them with more skills so that they can better face the market and be more successful when applying for jobs, as well as being prepared for the world because there are several opportunities emerging around the world and we have to take advantage these possibilities as well,” he said.
The country currently has 161 vocational training centres, most of which have benefited from improvement and re-equipment.
