Minister of Defence Proposes Training for Inspectors

Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of National Defence, Former Combatants and Veterans of the Nation, João Ernesto dos Santos “Liberdade”, proposed on Monday in Luanda the need for continuous training for inspectors, in order to allow specialists to perform their duties in a more assertive and efficient manner. The Minister of Defence expressed this position during the opening of the Commemorative Day of the National Defence Inspector, which takes place from the 21st to the 25th of this month, at the Social Security Institute of the Angolan Armed Forces (ISS-FAA). On the occasion, João Ernesto dos Santos called for the strengthening and consolidation of institutional partnerships with specialist organisations, and others, as well as the development of training and capacity building programmes that promote professionalism and ethics in the exercise of the duties of inspectors.

“The inspector must have high standards of conduct and professional ethics, ensuring that his/her actions are guided by impartiality, objectivity and rigor”, said the minister, reiterating the need for commitment to transparency, administrative modernization and efficiency in inspection actions in the Defense sector. The complexity of inspection and audit processes, he stressed, requires the ongoing improvement of technical and professional capabilities, and it is important to invest in training and capacity building for staff, so that inspectors are aligned with international best practices and the national regulatory framework.

“Inspection plays a crucial role in ensuring stability, administrative efficiency and transparency in resource management, contributing to a safe and sustainable future for all Angolans, particularly for the institution we serve and its members,” he stressed.
