Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of Mineral Resources, Petroleum and Gas, Diamantino Azevedo, praised on Saturday, in the province of Cunene, the progress achieved in the project to assess the hydrocarbon potential in the Kassanje and Etosha-Okavango Basins.

Speaking to the press at the end of a visit to the Namacunde Logistics Support Base, the minister said conditions are in place for the teams to work more efficiently and that the explanations received from those responsible for the project were fundamental.

“We took the opportunity to suggest some solutions for a faster assessment, with the integration of other authorities from a technical and laboratory point of view, as well as increasing human capacity,” the minister said.

He explained that this exercise must be carried out with greater care, following the steps of the process, taking into account the high risks, but the important thing is to contribute to improving the discovery of new hydrocarbon reserves.
