More than 15 billion kwanzas approved for Agriculture and Fisheries

Africa-Press – Angola. More than 15 billion kwanzas were approved this Tuesday to support Agriculture and Fisheries, in a project to be operated by the Agricultural Development Support Fund (FADA).

The information was provided by the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, António Francisco de Assis, adding that these measures constitute a legal imperative and aim to establish rules to seek balance in the explorations of these two sectors.

According to the official, who was speaking after the session of the Council of Ministers, fortunately, all the inputs needed for Agriculture are now available in the country, contrary to previous years.

A document with the general guidelines for the implementation of actions to support technical and material supply, whose main beneficiaries will be the demobilized, young people and rural women, among others, was approved by the Economic Commission of the Council of Ministers.

According to the final communiqué of the 2nd Ordinary Meeting, guided by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, the Economic Commission of the Council of Ministers approved the technical-material supply measures of the Integrated Plan for Acceleration of Agriculture and Family Fishing to support, among others, , demobilized soldiers enrolled in field schools, cooperatives or operating individually or as a family.

With the approval of this document, the Executive intends to solve the problem of insufficient production factors such as seeds, fertilizers, vaccines, fishing nets and hooks, thus guaranteeing an increase in production, productivity and employment, with positive consequences. for food and nutrition security and sustainable export diversification.

With regard to the Labor and Social Security sector, a Presidential Decree was approved establishing the mandatory social protection regime for professional sports practitioners, which enshrines specific rules for the legal-contributory benefit relationship, based on the contributory impact, in the material scope of the benefits and at retirement age.

This document, according to the Executive, aims to improve the contributory relationship between sports entities and professional sports practitioners, above all, in the process of enrolling insured persons and in collecting contributions for mandatory social protection, ensuring the effective protection of athletes in situations of reduction capacity for work, maternity and old age.

In the field of Fisheries, the Economic Commission approved the management measures for marine fisheries, Continental Fisheries, Aquaculture and Salt, for 2022, a diploma that establishes a set of annual rules for the management and control of aquatic biological resources existing in the waters under jurisdiction of the Angolan State.

According to the press release from the Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, these measures will ensure compliance with the objectives set out in the Fisheries and Aquaculture Management Plan for the 2018-2022 five-year period, through the adoption of mechanisms more suited to the current situation of aquatic resources and the economic and social context of the country.

In the same session, the annual rules for the execution of the General State Budget for the financial year 2022 were approved, a diploma that aims to guide the process of executing the OGE, this year, taking into account the need for continuous improvement in the quality of expenditure. public, the improvement of accountability mechanisms and the guarantee of dynamization of the process of making financial resources available for the acquisition of goods and services by budget units and dependent bodies.

Public finances

Still in the field of Public Finances, the Economic Commission analyzed the balance report on the execution of the National Treasury’s annual financial programming, referring to 2021, having found that the implementation of the main OGE assumptions allowed achieving a good performance of the macroeconomic indicators in relation to the programmed .

In the same vein, the annual (2022) and quarterly financial programming of the National Treasury, referring to the first quarter of this year, were approved, documents that contain the projection of inflows and outflows of financial resources in the periods in question, recording operations with direct and indirect impact on the treasury.
