Africa-Press – Angola. Eight hundred and 45 children and teenagers, between 6 and 17 years old, acquired for the first time, from May to June this year, the citizen’s card, in Cunene province.
The services for issuing the card, developed by the network of Balcões Único do Empreendedor (BUAP), launched in May this year, operate in municipal and communal administrations.
The process aims to issue citizen cards to allow the location of minors and adolescents, informed Wednesday, by the Head of the Modernization, Administration and Management department of BUAP in Cunene, José Manuel.
He said that the BUAP also issued 666 requests for collecting data for issuing the Identity Card and the renewal of 170 voter cards, at the level of the municipalities of Cuanhama, Namacunde, Ombadja, Cahama, Curoca and Cuvelai.
On the other hand, he made it known that the BUAP services have been suspended since July, due to an operation taking place across the country, to adapt the system that aims to expand its functionalities and integrate new services.
“With the completion of the adaptation of the system, the BUAP began to issue other essential services to citizens, such as duplicate Tickets, driving licenses, among other documents”, he recalled.
José Manuel said that while these services remain suspended, the population should go to the municipal administration secretariats to process the residence certificate.
The citizen’s card is a very valuable identification instrument, which, when assigned, like the Identity Card, simplifies the need for various documents in different institutions.
Cunene’s Office for Registration and Administrative Modernization has 20 Entrepreneur’s Single Counters (BUAP), one for each commune.
With an area of 87 thousand 342 square kilometers and 1 million 17 491 inhabitants, the province of Cunene is administratively divided into six municipalities and 20 communes.
