Africa-Press – Angola. The second provincial secretary of the MPLA in Lunda Norte, Fernando Quindji, said this Saturday that the conclusion of works on the National Road (EN) 230, which connects the east to the coast of the country, will boost the socio-economic development of the region.
The rehabilitation of that section, which began in 2020, is part of the MPLA’s electoral promises.
The Angolan government made available around US$630 million for the rehabilitation and expansion of 630 kilometers of roads, including the construction of 10 new bridges, on the Malanje/Saurimo section.
Speaking at the end of the march in support of the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, promoted by the MPLA Provincial Committee, Fernando Quindji stressed that the completion of the EN-230 will contribute significantly to reducing the prices of basic basket products, currently more expensive due to the current road status.
He stressed that with the conclusion of works on EN-225 (Dundo-Xá-muteba) and 180 (Lunda Norte-Lunda Sul), it boosted trade in the region.
“The actions of the Executive are visible, from social, industrial, hospital infrastructure, combating the drought in the south of the country, electrifying the country with the installation of photovoltaic systems, rehabilitation of dams, the stagnation of ravines, rehabilitation of access roads , among others”, he stressed.
On the other hand, he reiterated that his party will remain committed to the consolidation of the Democratic State of Law, peace, unity and national reconciliation, as these are fundamental assumptions for the socio-economic development of the country.
He appealed to young people to refrain from demonstrations that incite social disobedience, disorder and disrespect for state symbols and institutions.
Friends, MPLA supporters and civil society organizations took part in the militant march.
