Africa-Press – Angola. The MPLA in the province of Cuando Cubango intends to see its women’s organization (OMA) more intervening, solidary, dynamic and mobilizing new militants, for the growth of the ranks of the party, to overcome the challenges of the future.

This position was expressed by the MPLA secretary for information and propaganda in the province of Cuando Cubango, João Yambo Miguel, when speaking Sunday, at the provincial act of the 61st anniversary of the Organization of Angolan Women (OMA), held in the municipality of Cuchi, the 93 kilometers west of the city of Menongue.

The politician stressed that, with the MPLA’s victory in the August 24 elections, women should continue with the task of strengthening the party’s ranks, to allow the materialization of the lines drawn for the five-year period, towards a sustainable development of Angola.

He recalled that OMA, as a social organization of the party, constitutes the largest fringe and potential for development, as it includes in its bosom a vast and diversified culture that seeks to promote common national values, starting with its basic structures in all the municipalities that make up the province.

João Yambo Miguel added that the aforementioned values are embodied in respect for the various socio-cultural communities, a primary condition for the development of Angolan identity, which must be disseminated by this fringe of society.

He said that 61 years later, the MPLA has remained the largest political party in Angola, with political and constitutional legitimacy and is in better conditions than any political party in Angola to continue leading the development process.

He stated that the strengthening of the party will allow the MPLA to continue transforming Angola into a united and democratic nation, which includes a commitment to women who will continue in education and other sectors, including teenagers and young women.

For her part, the provincial secretary of OMA in Cuando Cubango, Rosa Cacuhu, said that her organization will continue to work to improve academic, technical and professional training, in order to provide women with tools and techniques that ensure performance effective in fulfilling its obligations.

He expressed readiness to continue to obey the guidelines issued by superiors for the realization of the noblest aspirations of the populations.
