Africa-Press – Angola. The new first secretary of the MPLA in the municipality of Cuimba, northern Zaire province, Isabel Queba Salvador, said Friday that she will pay greater attention to basic structures for galvanizing party action in that district.
After being elected at the 3rd extraordinary municipal conference held in the town of Cuimba, replacing Afonso Nzolameso, the leader asked for the collaboration of the militants to carry out the action plan.
“The motto of our party’s action is to go down to the bases to rise with them”, underlined Isabel Queba Salvador, who is also the municipal administrator of Cuimba.
The new MPLA secretary in Cuimba promised to focus on the political-party training of militants, leaders and cadres of the party and the respective mass organizations (OMA and JMPLA).
He added that mastering the internal life of the party and the country allows MPLA militants, leaders and other cadres to intervene, with greater propriety, in the various debates that arise in society.
Isabel Queba Salvador also promised to work to reinforce cohesion and unity within the party, in order to face current and future political challenges.
On the occasion, he appealed to the cadres who hold positions of leadership and direction in the State apparatus in the municipality to exercise their functions with zeal and dedication, providing better service to the populations.
Outgoing secretary calls for vigilance
In turn, the first outgoing municipal secretary, Afonso Nzolameso, appealed to the militants and the population in general not to be deceived by what he considered “disturbing actions and practices of social peace”.
He asked for the strengthening of unity and cohesion within the party structures in order to circumvent what he called “deceitful maneuvers” by the largest opposition party in Angola.
Afoso Nzolameso held the position of first municipal secretary of Cuimba of the MPLA, in the last two years.
The 3rd extraordinary municipal conference was attended by 199 delegates from the four assigned communes (Buela, Luvaka, Serra de Kanda and Sede).
The meeting was witnessed by the coordinator of the follow-up group of the Executive Commission of the Provincial Secretariat of Zaire from the MPLA to the municipality of Cuimba, Fernanda Deolinda Sumbo.
