Africa-Press – Angola. The Municipal Committee of the MPLA in Uíge recommended, this Saturday, to the militants and leaders of the political formation in the region the reinforcement of unity and cohesion within the party, aiming at its strengthening.

The fact appears in the final communiqué of the party’s 3rd Extraordinary Conference in the municipality of Uíge, which elected Maria Cavungo as the first municipal secretary, replacing Sónia Arlete Domingos.

The extraordinary Conference also recommended greater dynamism and rigor in the political and social mobilization of militants, as well as the creation of policies to improve the social conditions of the population.

Held at Cine Ginásio, in the city of Uíge, the act was led by the first outgoing municipal secretary, Sónia Arlete Domingos, who praised the commitment and dedication of members and militants in the actions of the party during her mandate.

On the occasion, the new municipal secretary of the MPLA in Uíge, Maria Cavungo, defended the need to improve the work and internal life of the party, as well as collaboration with local party militants, for current and future challenges.

The meeting was also attended by the deputy coordinator of the MPLA Follow-up Group in the municipality of Uíge, Pasi Mafuta Nova, who urged the militants to carry out the tasks of political training.

The act was attended by 217 delegates and other guests.
