MPLA Political Bureau Encourages Party Leader

Africa-Press – Angola. This Friday, in Luanda, the MPLA encouraged the party president, João Lourenço, to continue the efforts undertaken to peacefully resolve the conflicts still latent in Africa, especially in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

The recognition is expressed in the final communiqué of the 1st Ordinary Meeting of the Political Bureau of the MPLA Central Committee, which addressed aspects related to the program for the celebration of 50 years of National Independence, on November 11, 2025.

On the occasion, BP members were informed about the current situation in eastern DRC.

The meeting was preceded by a separate meeting of the MPLA Honor Council, also chaired by the party leader, João Lourenço.

During it, participants welcomed the program of decorations for individuals who should be honored in reference to half a century of National Independence.

On the other hand, the BP approved the proposal of the JMPLA’s first national secretary on the composition of the Secretariat of the Party’s Youth Organization, with the joint opinions of the departments of the Central Committee.

It supported information on the state of preparation for the launch of the political agenda for the year 2025, which will take place on February 8th of this year in the province of Malanje.

It also approved adjustments to the composition of the Political Bureau secretary’s monitoring groups for the provinces and the respective group composition circular.
