Africa-Press – Angola. The Moxico Provincial Maternity Hospital was reinforced this Thursday with medicines and other essential materials by the vice-president of the MPLA, Luísa Damião, as part of a working visit she is carrying out in this region of the country.

At that reference health unit, the vice-president, accompanied by the party’s first provincial secretary, Ernesto Muangala, visited the various sections of the hospital, to find out about its operation.

To ensure the proper functioning of the health unit, the vice-president was informed about the difficulties affecting that unit, mainly about the lack of technicians and specialist doctors.

On the subject, Luísa Damião promised to advocate with the Government to resolve the aforementioned problem, with a view to improving patient care.

Despite having left with a “good impression” about the hospital’s operating status, the vice-president recommended the need to strive for the humanization of medical services for women in labor and the care of equipment.

Even today, the vice-president of the MPLA held meetings with religious entities in the province, with emphasis on the bishop of the diocese of Luena, Dom Martin Lasarte, with whom she learned about the pastoral agenda of the local church.

Luísa Damião also heard from members of traditional authorities and representatives of women’s and youth associations.

In fulfillment of the three-day work agenda she is developing in the province of Moxico, this Thursday Luísa Damião will lead a mass political event at the Gimnodesportivo 27 de Março pavilion, in the city of Luena.
