Africa-Press – Angola. The importance of ethics and integrity in public service was addressed yesterday in Menongue, at the seminar addressed to leaders and staff of the MPLA Provincial Committee, at Cuando Cubango, with a view to promoting good practices in Public Administration and sharing best experiences.

The meeting chaired by the Secretary for Political, Electoral, Economic and Social Affairs, Manuel Franessa, aimed, among other objectives, to promote a discussion and reflection on the relevance of ethics and integrity in public service based on the performance of the mission and the contribution to the moralization of society.

Manuel Franessa explained that the seminar deepened knowledge about the ethical foundations of good conduct and integrity as values ​​and norms that guide the actions of activists inside and outside the party, as part of the annual training program for MPLA officials.

The Secretary for Political, Electoral, Economic and Social Affairs said that this issue is related to the assumptions that the MPLA defends for the socio-economic development of the country, mainly in the continuity of the fight against corruption, nepotism, flattery and other forms that are harmful to the Government’s actions in favor of the satisfaction of the Angolan population.

The politician stressed that these guidelines and objectives expressed in the training program on ethics and integrity in public service are an added value for administrative managers and party officials, with a view to catapulting and deepening understanding of current legislation related to ethics in Public Administration and sharing experiences on best practices for preventing corruption.

The coordinator of the MPLA Provincial Committee, Manuel Samba, stated that the governing party is called upon to carry out the mission of leading the policy that guarantees the success of the program.

According to him, the fight against corruption is a decisive flag for raising the levels of good management of public assets, aiming to satisfy the needs of the population.
