Hundreds of municipal delegations started this Monday to arrive in Lubango, capital of Huíla province, where they will participate from Thursday to Sunday in the 4th edition of the Feira dos Municípios e Cidades de Angola (FMCA), an organization of the Government , through the Ministry of Territorial Administration.
The city is busy, accommodation is scarce and a new business has emerged, the temporary lease of residences to overcome the lack of accommodation for visitors, with considerable inflation in prices in this regard.
Who wins with the deal are the intermediaries, who put on digital platforms the references of residences equipped to rent for a few days, with prices ranging from 100,000 to 800,000 kwanzas/day, depending on the location, Sandro Pakissi told, industry entrepreneur.
Another front that registers demand, according to the young intermediary, is car hire, with prices set between 50,000 and 280,000 kwanzas per day.
Everything is on display in the exhibition pavilion, with access only authorized to exhibitors, who adorn the stands according to the brand they represent.
In addition to the municipalities, ministerial departments, public and private companies, as well as provincial governments will be present.
After three years of stoppage due to covid-19, the FMCA-2023, organized by the Ministry of Territorial Administration, the FMCA will take place under the motto “Life is made in the municipalities”, and the 18 provinces will be part of it. and the country’s 164 municipalities, as well as ministerial departments, public and private companies.
During the event, the Forum of Municipalities and Cities of Angola will take place, on the 11th, an event in which issues related to local administration will be discussed.
The province of Huíla with 79 thousand and 22 km2 has 14 municipalities, namely Lubango (capital), Chibia, Gambos, Humpata, Cacula, Quilengues, Caluquembe, Caconda, Chipindo, Chicomba, Quipungo, Matala, Cuvango and Jamba.
