Africa-Press – Angola. A new quartz quarry, called Heron Union Minerais DA, was inaugurated Saturday at municipality of Virei in the province of Namibe, to reinforce the region’s mining potential.
According to Dandan Zhang, the company’s manager, the infrastructure, located in the Siwe community, was built to current technical and environmental standards.
He highlighted that the project prioritizes responsible extraction practices and effective measures to mitigate environmental impacts.
Zhang emphasized the company’s commitment to valuing local labor by promoting training and productive inclusion initiatives to strengthen residents’ skills and generate employment opportunities.
The municipal administrator of Virei, Andre Cassinda, stated that the investment represents the exploitation of a valuable mineral resource and the consolidation of a strategic vision based on responsibility, innovation, and sustainable development.
He emphasized that the inauguration demonstrates the Municipal Administration’s interest in boosting the territory’s mining potential, with a view to promoting socio-economic growth and improving the local community’s living conditions.
