Africa-Press – Angola. The Bengo Provincial Delegate of the Bar Association, Bernardo João, in Caxito, appealed to lawyers to uphold the ethical and deontological principles of the profession.
When speaking at the ceremony to hand over final certificates to five lawyers to practice the profession, he said that law is a civic exercise that requires career professionals to comply with ethical standards.
With the delivery of these five ballots, the number of professional lawyers in Bengo increases to 27, a figure that is still insufficient for the demand registered in the province’s six municipalities.
When speaking at the event on Ethics and deontology in the exercise of the legal profession”, lawyer Eulandio Dambi, explained that law is a profession of high public interest in a society based on respect for the law.
The lawyer is responsible for maintaining the constitutional guarantee of people in society, defending citizenship, public morality, justice and peace, he said.
Upon receiving her professional certificate, lawyer Leonora Malú Tito expressed her joy and stated that she will work with people in need.
The Bengo Provincial Delegation of the Bar Association controls 60 members, of which 27 are permanent and 33 interns.
