Africa-Press – Angola. One thousand new employees of the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) completed at the Damba training center, municipality of Mucari, the first basic course for criminal investigators, promoted by the Ministry of the Interior.
The course lasted three months and aimed to provide employees with the technical and professional knowledge necessary to perform the role of authority agent and to enlighten them on correct action within the principle of legality.
When proceeding with the closure, the Minister of the Interior, Eugénio César Laborinho, specified that the course now finished, fits into the strategy of the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, who during his government was available to unconditionally support the defense bodies and security, with human resources and infrastructure.
On the other hand, he exhorted the troops to use all the energy, intelligence and wisdom learned during the fulfillment of the missions entrusted to them.
He appealed to the SIC to be implacable in supervising the activity of its officers at various levels, since, on the one hand, its action is indispensable for the success of the investigative activity.
However, he said it was necessary to separate within the forces, individuals who take advantage of their status as agents of authority, to achieve unconfessed ends to the detriment of the good name of the corporation.
“It is necessary to avoid abuse of power, evaluate the signs of confrontation before pulling the trigger or handcuffing the citizen”, he said, adding that such Police measures must be applied in case of extreme necessity and in accordance with the law.
He appealed to the population to continue to respect State institutions and authorities, thus avoiding vandalism and theft of public property, as well as to collaborate in denouncing acts of this nature.
Trainees promise to carry out the tasks entrusted to them with zeal and dedication.
With a workload of 650 hours, articulated in a binary system, the course served to administer subjects related to salutes and military honors, law of military crimes, weapons and shooting preparation, tactics, applied military gymnastics, united order, self-defense , first aid, human rights, police ethics and deontology, methodology of criminal investigation and criminalistics.
SME with new facilities
The Provincial Directorate of the Migration and Foreigners Service (SME) has since saturday, with new headquarters, inaugurated in the center of the city, by the Minister of the Interior, Eugénio César Laborinho, aiming to give greater dignity to the staff, who previously worked in precarious conditions.
As part of the ongoing migration infrastructure construction project in the country, based on the alignment of the National Development Plan (PDN), the inauguration of the building marks an important step in the management of migration flows in the province.
This infrastructure has an equipped issuing room, whose management system will allow migratory acts to be processed quickly, especially the issuance and extension of visas at local level.
Along with the SME headquarters, the MININT bodies in Malanje also benefited today from some means of transport to help with confrontation activities.
