Africa-Press – Angola. Two hundred Army personnel, integrated in the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) education subsystem, started this Tuesday, in Huambo, the 2nd promotion course to the rank of senior officer and the 1st to that of captain.
There are 150 personnel enrolled in the 2nd promotion course to senior officer and 50 captains from the six military regions, namely Cabinda, Centre, Luanda, East, North and South, who will learn, in 10 months, specific and complementary subjects and notions general weapons and services.
The training, which will take place at the Specialization School for Armored Troops and Auto Driver Training (CCTBFCA), in Chipipa commune, Huambo municipality, aims, among other things, to update and improve command and leadership skills, technical and technological effective.
Among the objectives is the elevation of the General Staff culture, according to the standards of professional training and, at the same time, developing skills for performance within the Army’s educational plan, with a view to satisfying the needs of the branch and beyond. .
On the occasion, 2nd Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General João Cruz da Fonseca, considered the military teaching institutions as places of dignity, as they are places where the troops cultivate virtues and references to citizenship and love of the Motherland.
He said that military training aims to increase the performance of the troops, through the reinforcement of skills and performance, in order to progress in their careers and, at the same time, provide a more qualified human capital with the capacity to respond, with efficiency and competitiveness, to the challenges imposed.
The military official added that training, both for promotion to senior officer and for the rank of captain, concerns the pursuit of military objectives, in order to contribute to the development of organizations and add values to the affective.
According to the general officer, it is also intended to maximize effectiveness and organizational development, as well as to generate added value for the Army, being able, in general terms, to reinforce the professional capacity of trainees and endow them with attitudes for effectiveness and efficiency in the exercise of military activities, in the short and medium term.
The courses for promotion to the rank of captain and senior officer of the Army are carried out in compliance with the provisions of paragraphs a) and b), of paragraph 1 of article 52 of Law 13/2018, of October 29, FAA Military Career Law , constituting a social condition for ascension to the aforementioned positions.
The first promotion course to senior officer was held in 2021, with a total of 240 trainees, also in Huambo, headquarters of the Central Military Region, which covers the provinces of Benguela, Bié, Cuanza Sul.
