Africa-Press – Angola. The role of youth in the country’s social transformation was highlighted this Sunday in Luena (Moxico), by the provincial secretary of the Evangelical Church of the Brothers in Angola (IEIA), Samuel António.
The priest was speaking during the opening ceremony of the 2nd IEIA youth camp, from the eastern region of the country, with the participation of more than 1,000 young people from the provinces of Moxico, Lunda Sul and Lunda Norte, in an activity witnessed by the governor, Ernesto Muangala.
According to the official, the country’s current challenges require a dynamic and committed youth, capable of promoting positive transformations in society, fulfilling God’s designs.
” The responsibility of the society we live in is not only in the hands of the rulers, it transcends all citizens, especially young Christians who must seek to rescue moral values, to make this society a space where one can cohabit with peace, harmony , regardless of ideological, political and religious differences,” he added.
Already, the provincial governor, Ernesto Muangala, encouraged young people to invest in academic training, as well as called for the preservation of national symbols, exalting patriotic sentiment.
The event, which takes place under the motto “JUCIEIA Raise your eyes and look from the place where you are” in Sacassange, aims to create an environment for strengthening faith and deepening biblical knowledge.
For seven days, several topics are reserved, with emphasis on “The Christian brotherhood as a factor for the growth of the church”, “The Christian youth and ICTs, “The Christian youth and party politics”
