Africa-Press – Angola. The Police in Huíla identified Marcos Lustre “Bad Ilustre” and “pidji” as the perpetrators of the theft of 36 million kwanzas, which culminated in the murder of an Eritrean businessman, on the fifth of February, in the municipality of Lubango.
According to the Huíla police commander, Commissioner Divaldo Martins, who was speaking at a press conference, the two (on the run) are part of a criminal association called “Champions League” that carried out robberies in recent weeks in that district.
The two had the participation of João Herculano “John”, detained, and the driver of one of the victim’s warehouses, who provided the group with information about the date on which the money was collected.
Police investigations determined that Bad Ilustre and MJ are members of a criminal association called “Champions League”, which operates mainly in the southern region and arrived in Lubango on different dates, coming from the provinces of Huambo and Benguela, respectively. It was this organization that planned and carried out the aforementioned robberies.
According to the commander, the so-called group is accused of being directly responsible for and participating in nine robberies carried out between the last week of January and the first week of February, all in Lubango.
According to Divaldo Martins, the work of local police bodies, in coordination with the State information and intelligence service (SINSE), also allowed the arrest of Wilson Alfredo Cachipo “Jikilson”, a member of the “Champions League”, for criminal association, robbery and theft, as well as that of Jilsónia Cardoso “Sónia”, resident in the Mitcha neighborhood, in whose residence part of the group was housed during their stay in the municipality of Lubango.
According to the commander, Sónia maintains an intimate relationship with Bad Ilustre, in addition to providing accommodation for the pair. One of the stolen cell phones was found with her.
It was Sónia who alerted her partner that the Police were looking for him, allowing him to escape from Huambo to Benguela.
According to the police, the warehouse driver has already been heard by the guarantee judge and is awaiting the determination of the coercive measure, which will most likely be preventive detention.
As for the fugitives, Divaldo Martins said that arrest warrants were issued by the Public Ministry against MJ and Bad Lustre, and an operation is underway throughout the national territory to arrest them.
The 37-year-old Eritrean businessman was shot dead in the middle of a public street, on the fifth of February, in the Lubango industrial zone, when he resisted a robbery, when he was transporting 36 million kwanzas to deposit in a bank, an amount that It has not yet been recovered, as has the murder weapon.
