Africa-Press – Angola. Eight citizens of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) were detained, last Wednesday, in the municipality of Maquela do Zombo (Uíge), for attempting to enter the country illegally.
This Thursday, the spokesperson for the Provincial Command of the National Police in Uíge, chief superintendent Freitas Zama, the arrest took place at the Kimbata border post, municipality of Maquela do Zombo.
The detainees intended to reach the country’s capital (Luanda).
However, the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) dismantled, on Wednesday, in the capital of the province, a group of four individuals who were dedicated to robberies on public roads and residences, with firearms.
The group had an AKM-type firearm, taken from a security guard at a private company, during a robbery in the Candombe Velho neighborhood, on the outskirts of the city of Uíge.
