Africa-Press – Angola. The poultry project installed in the municipality of Saco-Mar, in the Giraul de Baixo area, will supply at least 21,000 eggs per day to the Namibe market.
The poultry farm was visited on Saturday by the Minister of State for Economic Coordination, José de Lima Massano, who observed its operations and its difficulties.
At the site, the poultry farm manager, Adriano Silva, reported that the initiative, funded under the PRODESI program, is enabling a reduction in imports and financial autonomy for families by reducing the cost of essential products in the basic food basket.
The Minister of State visited three of the 11 installed poultry farms, where he learned that one is for egg production with a capacity of over 2,500 birds, another for 3,500 laying hens, and the third poultry farm is focused on broiler production with a capacity of 5,000 birds.He explained that the poultry farm has generated 115 jobs and income for local families.
“We want to continue developing national production, diversify the economy, and create conditions for the population to consume the province’s products,” he said.
He announced that the project had a two-year execution period and was financed by BAI bank, under the PRODESI program, under the Notice 10 financing line.
Next, the Minister of State for Economic Coordination visited private investments supported by the “Transforma Aqui” financial product, which will generate greater opportunities for small and medium-sized producers to offer protein to the market.
Also on Saturday, he visited a limestone reserve, covering approximately 350 hectares, which, if exploited, could attract greater investment in the province, increase tax revenue, and increase youth employment.He noted a private investment project with a production capacity of over 100,000 bottles of wine per year, most of which is absorbed by the Angolan market.
On-site, he was informed that the promoters intend to expand the production area and make the brand a benchmark for the country, increasing local exports and tourism.
The Minister of State’s delegation visited the infrastructure included in the Moçâmedes Bay redevelopment project, built under the Public Investment Program (PIP), valued at over US$650 million, whose inauguration coincides with the 50th anniversary of National Independence.
José de Lima Massano visited two leading private investment units in the fishing sector, which were strengthened with funding under the PRODESI program.
