Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, granted this Monday, in Luanda, an audience to the former Head of State of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo.
Olusegun Obasanjo arrived in the Angolan capital on Sunday, as Grand Patron of the Angola-Nigeria Business Council.
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s agenda includes a meeting with the president of the Sovereign Fund of Angola (FSDEA), Armando Manuel, and a visit to António Agostinho Neto International Airport (AIAAN).
Last November, on the sidelines of the III Luanda Biennale, the two met and highlighted Angola’s desire for Nigeria’s greater presence in the Angolan economy.
In October 2023 and February 2024, the Angola-Nigeria Business Council held two Business Forums, in Abuja and Lagos, where Nigerian businesspeople showed their willingness to promote commercial cooperation and relaunch sustainable bases for strengthening economic ties.
The Angola-Nigeria Business Council was established on October 19th, in Abuja, and is chaired by Nigerian businesswoman Fifi Ejindu and has Angolan businessmen António Henriques da Silva and Bento dos Santos as vice-presidents.
