Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, travels Thursday (31) to the Republic of Congo for political consultations with his counterpart Denis Sassou Nguesso on the situation in Gabon.
In the early hours of this Wednesday (30th) a group of soldiers from the Gabonese army announced a coup d’état, on national television, after the release of the results of the general elections in that country.
The announcement was made in a press release read on the television channel “Gabon 24” by the military who decided to close the country’s borders.
Gabon is located on the Atlantic coast of central Africa and has land borders with Equatorial Guinea, Cameroon and Congo and sea borders with São Tomé and Príncipe.
