Africa-Press – Angola. President João Lourenço, sent on Thursday, a congratulatory message to the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, on the celebration of the National Day of that Middle Eastern country.
In the letter, the Angolan Head of State expressed, on behalf of the government and in his own name, congratulations to the people and Government of Qatar and highlighted the historical significance of the date for the consolidation of national unity and the progress achieved by the country.
João Lourenço highlighted the advances recorded by the State of Qatar under the leadership of its Emir, praising the results obtained in the areas of development and modernization.
In the message, João Lourenço reaffirmed Angola’s commitment to continue strengthening the existing ties of friendship and cooperation between the two States, with a view to promoting the well-being and prosperity of their respective peoples.
The Angolan Head of State expressed high esteem and consideration for the Emir of Qatar, wishing continued success to the country and its people.
Bilateral cooperation between Angola and the State of Qatar has seen significant progress in recent years, particularly in the oil and gas sectors, areas in which both countries are prominent producers and exporters in the international market.
The State of Qatar possesses the world’s third-largest natural gas reserves and considerable oil reserves, coupled with low public debt, sound public finances, and a high level of political and social stability.
The country also boasts a high per capita income, a favorable business environment, reconciliation with the Persian Gulf nations, modern infrastructure and efficient logistics services, as well as a diversified economy, a robust financial market, and a high human development index.
