Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the National Popular Assembly of Cuba, Juan Esteban Lazo Hernández, arrives in Luanda on Tuesday, for an official visit of three, aimed at establishing talks with Angolan parliamentarians, within the scope of the historical relations between the two institutions.
According to a note, upon his arrival, the President of the Cuban Parliament will hold a courtesy meeting with his Angolan counterpart, Carolina Cerqueira.
For Wednesday, the agenda foresees the presence of the Cuban parliamentary delegation in the plenary of the National Assembly, to accompany the 4th Extraordinary Plenary Meeting of the 2nd Legislative Session of the V Legislature of the National Assembly.
On the same day, the President of the Cuban Parliament will carry out a guided tour of the National Assembly palace, viewing the institutional video, as well as signing the book of honor.
Likewise, a visit to the Memorial Doutor António Agostinho Neto and the sarcophagus of the former President of the Republic, José Eduardo dos Santos, is scheduled.
The delegation will also visit the Cardeal Dom Alexandre do Nascimento Hospital Complex.
On Thursday, the last day of the visit, the leader of the Cuban Parliament will pay tribute to commander Raúl Díaz-Arguelles, with the laying of a wreath, at the Alto das Cruzes Cemetery.
Angola and Cuba maintain cooperative relations in various areas such as security, education, health, transport, public works, construction, oil, sport, culture, tourism and agriculture.
The two States established diplomatic relations on November 15, 1975, four days after Angola’s independence and, a year later, signed the General Cooperation Agreement.
