Africa-Press – Angola. MPLA President João Lourenço convened the Honorary Council, his advisory body, in Luanda this Tuesday to report on the country’s political, economic, and social situation.
This second meeting of the MPLA Honorary Council, held at the party’s National Headquarters in Luanda, discussed issues related to the state and functioning of the party that supports the government.
No statements were made to the press regarding the meeting’s results.
The meeting was attended by most of the members of the MPLA Honorary Council.
Members of the MPLA Political Bureau also participated, notably the organization’s vice-president, Mara Quiosa, and the general secretary, Paulo Pombolo.
The Honorary Council, made up of 33 members, is a body that consults the MPLA President on decisions of a national nature or of great importance for the preservation of the party’s principles and values.
