Africa-Press – Angola. The rehabilitation works on the 80 kilometers of the Saurimo/Dala section, along National Road 180, in the province of Lunda Sul, will be completed in December this year, assured, this Monday, the general director of the National Institute of Roads of Angola (INEA), Henrique Victorino.
At this point, the Saurimo/Dala section has a physical execution of 80 percent.
According to the official, who was speaking at the end of the 24-hour working visit by the Secretary of State for Public Works, Manuel da Costa Morales, said that at this moment the project is entering a very critical period due to the rainfall that is plaguing the Eastern region, quite frequently, but some incentives will be created for the contractor to comply with the established deadlines.
Henrique Vitorino expressed satisfaction with the work in progress and believes that, within the next few days, the section will be open to traffic, in compliance with the deadlines set out in the schedule.
Before finding out about the progress of work on EN 180, the Secretary of State visited the work on the bridge under the Muanguês River, whose physical implementation is around 100 percent.
Henrique Victorino made it known that it is with great satisfaction and great effort that the sector has made to achieve the objectives set, as the bridge was a project that, initially, caused some constraints.
“The work will be handed over to the local government and motorists to begin using it. We are currently carrying out inspections and load tests to be able to dispatch the project.”
