Africa-Press – Angola. Sonangol Gas and Renewable Energy (Sonagás) guaranteed on Tuesday in Luanda the existence of a sufficient stock of butane gas for continuous supply nationwide and reaffirmed the operational operation of all its facilities.
In a statement sent, the Sonangol subsidiary informs that as a precaution and to ensure everyone’s safety, some stations were temporarily closed due to acts of vandalism that occurred during the taxi drivers’ strike.
The company reiterates its commitment to the safe, continuous, and efficient supply of gas to Angolan homes and institutions.
This statement follows complaints from residents in many neighborhoods in Luanda about the shortage of this product in the market, which has resulted in long lines and price speculation. The official price of a 12-kilogram butane gas cylinder is 1,200 kwanzas.
