Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan State issued 1.80 billion kwanzas in domestic debt securities with banks in 2022, according to weekly information on the Angolan economy published by Banco de Fomento Angola (BFA).

According to the publication of January 9, this year, sent to the partners of this institution, it is estimated that the total issues of bonds in the primary market were 1.83 billion kwanzas, plus the bonds issued directly to investors, which was 0.02 billion kwanzas recorded until September 2022.

With this value, BFA refers that the debt is close to 82% of the forecast in the Annual Debt Plan (PAE).

Also according to the report, with revenues from oil taxes higher than expected, the Treasury issued less than half of what it expected in short-term bonds, and less than 1/3 in bonds in Dollars, having taken the opportunity to reduce rates and issue a further 32% in bonds with maturity periods ranging from 2 to 10 years.

Emissions for 2023 begin this January, after approval of the Presidential Decree authorizing emissions of up to 2.16 billion kwanzas.

The Decree allows the Treasury to start financing this year, before the approval of the OGE 2023, which will be discussed in the National Assembly this January.
