Africa-Press – Angola. One hundred and forty cyclists, both national and foreign, will participate in the “Tour of Angola” (Cycling Tour) from October 30 to November 9, 2025, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of National Independence.

Speaking to the press, the president of the Angolan Cycling Federation, Crimilda Rangel, confirmed that 16 foreign teams will be present, including cyclists from Portuguese-speaking countries, except East Timor, and other African teams.

Regarding the circuit, she revealed that the start will be in Namibe province, passing through the Serra da Leba, with a short stop at the Tundavala crevasses.

From Huíla, the route continues to Benguela, where there will be two activities. “From Lobito, we’ll head to Sumbe, Porto Amboim, Luanda, and then north,” she stated.

Also called the “Volta Angola Pepino 50 anos” (50 Years of Angolan Pepino Tour), Crimilda Rangel said the event will end at the National Independence Square.

Regarding preparations, she said they are proceeding as smoothly as possible to ensure nothing goes wrong.

When asked about the registration of Angolan athletes, she assured that all federated cyclists from all provinces where the sport is practiced will participate.

“The Angolan Cycling Federation and the Ministry of Youth and Sports are working to ensure the 50th anniversary celebration is held with emphasis,” she stated.
