Africa-Press – Angola. The National Judo Championships in the categories of cadets and juniors, in both sexes, will be disputed on the 23rd and 24th of September this year, in the city of Uíge.
The announcement was made this Tuesday, in the city of Uíge, by the president of the Provincial Judo Association of Uíge, Manuel Morais, who guaranteed that technical and logistical preparations were underway with the federation of the sport and the provincial government so that dispute the championship on that date.
Without advancing the number of teams, athletes and provinces that will participate in the championship, the manager only explained that the competition will count on the teams qualified in the domestic competitions.
He clarified that, in the two levels, the teams will be represented in each of the categories of less than 50 kilograms, -50, -55 Kg, -60 Kg, 66 Kg, in addition to 90 Kg in men.
For the female sector, they will compete in the 40 kg, 44 kg, 48 kg, 52 kg, 57 kg, 63 kg, -70 kg and over 70 kg.
The province of Uíge will participate with more than eighty judokas in the male and female classes.
Muza-Kany dominates 2nd edition of provincial judo championship
The athletes from the Muza-Kany formation stood out in the second edition of the provincial judo championships in cadets and juniors, which took place in the city of Uíge, with the conquest of 16 medals, in the male and female classes.
During the championship, which took place on the 27th and 28th of the current year, the Muza-Kany club’s judokas won ten gold medals, three silver medals and an equal number of bronze medals.
In the second position of the competition were the judokas of the Ikkyu Club, with eleven medals, four gold, three silver and five bronze.
In third place were the athletes from Santa Rita de Cássia, who obtained nine awards, three of which were gold and an equal number of silver and bronze.
The top seven in the different categories (male and female) were qualified for the national championships of the modality.
Participated in individual judo competitions from seven schools and five clubs: Sabatana, AFA 5, Hoji-Ya-Henda, Kano, K.Sport, Kawashi, Kodakan, and Mercenários, IKKYU, Santa Rita, Kyuzu-Sport, and MUZA-KANY.
