Africa-Press – Angola. Thirty-one years later, the city of Uíge will once again host, from this Tuesday until the 26th of this month, the National Handball Championship for men’s youth, with the participation of nine teams from seven provinces of the country.
Opening this Tuesday at the Pavilhão do Futebol Clube do Uíge, the 41st edition will feature teams from Renascimento do Uíge, Obra Social da Maxinde de Malanje, Manja Sport do Bengo, Mora do Namibe, Ferroviário de Luanda, Interclube de Angola, Recreativo da Madeira, Dragões do Cuando Cubango and Escolinha Clube do Moxico.
However, the nine planned formations, the pairing of the championship, as well as the dispute model have not yet been disclosed, due to the lack of confirmation of some teams.
First game result
In the first meeting of the event, Renascimento do Uíge beat Obra Social da Maxinde de Malanje, by 23-16.
At halftime, Renascimento do Uíge, winner of the previous edition, held in 2019 in Benguela province, was already winning by 9-8.
At the opening of the championship, the vice-president of the Angolan Handball Federation (FAAND), Ana Paula da Silva, exhorted the spirit of fair play in the competition, in order to value the modality and sport globally.
