Africa-Press – Angola. The president of UNITA held, yesterday, in Luanda, a meeting with the director for Africa of the European Union (EU), Rita Laranjinha, with whom he discussed the electoral process and the challenges facing Angola.
To the press, after the meeting promoted behind closed doors, without statements from the EU delegation, Adalberto Costa Júnior considered that it was a positive meeting, allowing the country’s agendas to be updated.
He explained that an approach was made to the challenges of international agendas, the specific situation of the country and the expectation for an observer mission from the European Union in the next elections.
He specified that the arrival of observers from the European Union is not the mission of this delegation, as it is dealt with in a different scope, having as essential forums that define national and international observations.
“(…) Defined through the Assembly, the Government and the National Electoral Commission. We have tried to sensitize the Government to have a different, more democratic, open and more credible stance in these elections”, he reinforced.
