Africa-Press – Angola. The provincial secretary of UNITA in Cuanza-Sul, Armando Kaquepa, defended yesterday, in Sumbe, the need for the Executive to reinforce investments in the area of Tourism, in order to leverage the sector in the region and create more jobs, especially for youth.
Armando Kaquepa, who was speaking at a press conference, within the framework of the 47th anniversary of National Independence, marked Friday (November 11), said that the province of Cuanza-Sul has enormous tourist potential, which is why there is a need to reinforce of funds for the development of the sector, in order to attract more tourists.
“Tourism should deserve special attention from our authorities, judging by the benefits it provides in different areas. We think that this sector calls for more investment. Therefore, the Government should create policies for the growth and development of the hotel industry”, he stressed.
On the occasion, the politician lamented the state of the roads that connect the communes of Munenga to the village of Libolo, Cassongue/Cruzamento and Libolo/Quissongo.
According to Kaquepa, the province of Cuanza-Sul must have a good business environment, capable of attracting investors to set up their companies.
He said that some of the key sectors are agriculture, fishing, industry, civil construction and tourism.
He also referred that more investment is needed so that the problems of lack of specialist doctors in remote areas, teachers in rural areas and former combatants are solved.
Armando Kaquepa appealed to the local government to create mechanisms to accelerate the requalification works in the city of Sumbe, continuity of the earthworks on the streets of the peripheral districts of the provincial capital.
The province of Cuanza-Sul has 12 municipalities and 36 communes.
