Africa-Press – Angola. The provincial secretary of UNITA in Uíge, Félix Simão Lucas, defended on Tuesday, in the city of Uíge, the need for better coordination and economic policy, to mitigate the current situation that the country is experiencing.

Speaking at the opening act of the III Ordinary Meeting of the UNITA Provincial Committee in Uíge, Félix Simão Lucas said that the option involves participatory governance, the adoption of better economic policies, as well as lowering the prices of basic food products.

For this process, he said the involvement of political parties and other actors in society is important, promoting a culture of inclusive and encouraging dialogue for resolving social problems.

At the meeting that took place under the motto “UNITA – mobilization, growth and development”, Félix Simão Lucas said that the meeting aims to analyze the economic and social situation, as well as evaluate the performance of political formation in the region.

He said it was important to promote transparency, fight against corruption and extreme poverty, social injustice, among other evils that plague society.

Present at the event, the secretary general of UNITA, Álvaro Daniel, reaffirmed the need to create local authorities, justifying it as the best solution for bringing services closer to the population, promoting autonomy to resolve the economic situation in communities.
