Africa-Press – Angola. The UNITA parliamentary group expressed its dismay Sunday, at the death of former MPLA deputy to the National Assembly Monteiro Capunga, which occurred this Saturday (12th), in Portugal, due to illness.
“In this hour of pain and mourning, the UNITA parliamentary group, on behalf of its deputies, consultants, advisors, assistants and employees, addresses its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and the MPLA parliamentary group”, reads a note.
In the document, the largest opposition party considers Monteiro Capunga to have been a convinced nationalist, easy to deal with, supportive of the most needy and endowed with a patriotic feeling that placed him above party boundaries.
Deputy until the fourth legislature of the National Assembly, the deceased, who was notable in business activity, is also seen as a staunch defender of national identity and culture.
