The party founded by Jonas Savimbi in 1966, in Muangai, in the province of Moxico, also aims, if it comes to power, to review Presidential Decree number 161/18, which prohibits imports of second-hand vehicles and other products. In terms of field production, according to the “Inclusive and Participatory Government” project, Galo Negro proposes to build and rehabilitate roads, and the roads that connect production centers to distribution centers and markets. In this regard, UNITA admits taking a census of arable land and distributing it to farmers for proper exploitation. “The fight against poverty and hunger tends to subsidize the importation of means of production, fertilizers and seeds, to reach farmers at affordable prices.”

The training of agricultural and livestock technical agents in communities to encourage and promote subsistence, sustainable and profitable family farming is part of UNITA’s objectives for the five-year period 2022 to 2027.

According to the UNITA Government’s electoral manifesto, the party led by Adalberto Costa Júnior intends to create small manufacturing units close to the main production centers. “To boost the production of the basic food basket in a consistent way and guarantee the three minimum meals a day”, says the document, to add that children must also be guaranteed school meals and the creation of an emergency assistance plan.
