Africa-Press – Angola. The secretary of UNITA in the municipality of Huambo, Adriano Chigombe Bacia, this Tuesday reaffirmed the commitment of political formation to peace, democracy and ensuring the well-being of the population.
The politician, who was speaking at the 2nd ordinary meeting of UNITA in this district, stressed that the political party organization is focused on the struggle for the consolidation of the democratic State and the rule of law, safeguarding the peace process, national reconciliation and socio-economic development.
According to the supporter, “UNITA is against the assault on power, hence the fact that it always ensures compliance with the Constitution of the Republic of Angola, being aware of the importance of complying with legality”.
“UNITA does not want to seize power, since it is aware and aware that when the President of the Republic is removed, the person who would assume the position with full powers under the terms of Article 132/no1, will be the vice-president of the Republic, of the same party”, he said.
Thus, he appealed to the militants to respect ideological differences, as well as to work towards peace and national reconciliation.
The meeting aimed to address internal and external matters of the association, as well as the socio-political situation of the country, province and municipality of Huambo, in particular.
