Africa-Press – Angola. The UNITA provincial secretariat in Cuanza Norte reinforced, Saturday, in Ndalatando, the call for tolerance and respect for differences, for the consolidation of peace and national reconciliation.
The appeal appears in the final communiqué of the First Ordinary Session of the Secretariat of the Cuanza Norte Provincial Committee of that party, emphasizing the need to promote respect for differences, with a view to maintaining peace.
The meeting, chaired by the provincial secretary of Unita, Fernandes Francisco Falua, analyzed the current socio-economic situation in the province, the internal life of the party and the activities carried out during the first half of the current year.
Participants also called for impartial action by the public media, providing equal treatment to all organizations and political actors.
They also exhorted the National Police staff to maintain a republican stance, with a view to maintaining the democratic state and the rule of law.
They reaffirmed Unita’s position in favor of defending peace and national reconciliation and the rule of law and democracy.
The participants encouraged and expressed support for the party’s president, Adalberto da Costa Júnior, for the dynamic carried out inside and outside the country.
In the communiqué, Unita militants in Cuanza Norte support the initiative of the Parliamentary Group of the party prosecuting and dismissing the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, whose subscription process began on 16 August this year.
Speaking at the opening session, the provincial secretary of Unita, Fernandes Francisco Falua, exhorted the militants to close ranks around the party’s ideals and cause.
The meeting was attended by the party’s vice-president, Simão Albino Dembo, the national secretary for foreign affairs and communities, Rafael Massanga Savimbi, and the organisation’s spokesperson, Marcial Dachala.
The latter, invited to close the act, exhorted the engagement of the militants in improving the quality of political work and in the materialization of the actions programmed by the party leadership.
