UNITA wants more investment in social infrastructure in Sumbe

Africa-Press – Angola. The secretary of UNITA in Sumbe (Cuanza Sul), Elias Daniel, defended, this Wednesday, the need for the Government to invest more in the sectors of education and health, as well as energy and water, in order to improve quality of life of the population of the district.

Elias Daniel, who was speaking at a press conference, explained that these areas deserve special attention from the local government as they are key sectors for the economic and social development of the inhabitants of the city of Sumbe.

On the occasion, the politician exhorted the Executive to continue to focus on the domestic production of goods and services and on the promotion of entrepreneurship, in order to guarantee employment for the population, especially the youth.

“Our population is clamoring for employment, which is why we encourage the Executive to implement measures to fight unemployment”, he added.

The municipality of Sumbe, capital of the province of Cuanza Sul, has three communes (Quicombo, Ngangula and Gungo) and has an estimated population of 313 thousand and 894 inhabitants.
